but wait, A plus B doesn't equal C!

now, if i asked you; who do you think
are the number 1 enemies of hollywood?
critics? movie studios? video pirates?

wrong. it's engineers.

now, the problem with engineers is,
any movie has to be logical, has to make sense,
and all in all, things just HAVE to add up

otherwise it just ruins the movie, you see?

like when we watch "wanted",
we don't focus on a group of assassins
who restore parity and balance in the world

...we focus on the sewing machine instead.

you know, how on earth does the machine
receive encrypted messages thru the threads?
is it like, a wireless sewing machine maybe?

like when we watch "twilight",
we don't focus on the age-old war between
vampires and wolves for the love of a human

...we focus on why vampires are shiny instead.

you know, it isn't really scary when the worst thing
about a vampire is that he / she is shiny and glittery.
and why would that be, when they hate sunlight?

and like when we watch "the dark knight rises",
we don't focus on how batman rises from the dark
to save and fight for the city and people of gotham

...we focus on the location of the prison instead.

you know, since the prison looks very albanian-ish,
and since gotham is very likely in the united states,
then how did he walk on foot across the continent?

see?. engineers make the worst movie watchers.

defending one's honour. brilliant.

there are times when there is a moment or a scene
that just blows you away with it's brilliance.
this is one of them; al pacino's speech in 'scent of a woman'.

and j.k. rowling lived wealthily ever after.

it all ends? yes, it does.

fact; common experiences bring people together

for better or worse, on one hand or the other,
regardless of whether the experience was good or bad,
the fact that we shared something brings us closer

we watched as these cute little fellas grow,
we watched as they brought amazement and fun,
we watched as they soared high up in the skies,
we watched as they played lotsa neat tricks,
we watched as they solved puzzles here and there,
we watched as they forged friendship and kinship,
we watched as they battled monsters and wizards

...and then there was the finale

how we feared for their safety and well-being,
how we felt their unbearable pain and sacrifice,
how we carried the burden of their responsibilities

but then we saw how heroes come from nowhere,
we saw how good will triumph in our darkest hour,
and we saw how friendship and love,
trust and faith, strength and humility,
is the greatest gift for us all

and that, is an experience we all share

we shared it from the 1st movie onwards,
and eventhough it's time to bid farewell,
the wonderful experience might bring us together.

the harry potter franchise. it truly was magic.

500 days of something better

500 days too late

the simple truth about breakups is,
no matter how amicable or ugly it was,
in most cases one person moves on quickly
while the other just drifts around being empty

one person keeps living their life happily
while another lives each day in misery

one person forgets everything about the relationship
while another remembers even the smallest detail

one person decides that it's the right decision
while another agonizes over what went wrong

and one person finally gets what they want in life
while the other finally realizes there is more to life

the 2 best things i've learnt watching this flick are;

1. if you're agonizing over the past,
instead of remembering the lovely times together,
think of the bad, rough and even sad times you faced.
it'll help you realize that certain things aren't worth it

2. everything evens itself out in the end.
for both parties. one way or another

so there you go! go watch '500 days of summer'!

...i certainly wish i watched it 500 days earlier.

retreat? hell.

watch this one. loud.

how does it feel to be shocked?
how does it feel to be scared for your life?
how does it feel to have adreneline rush through you?
how do soldiers keep their nerve in battle?
what does it take to make decisions and stick with it?
what do you do when there is no right or wrong?
how does it feel to have brotherhood and trust?
what does it mean to have something to fight for?
what would you do to protect those you love?

world invasion; battle of los angeles.
if you want to have your ears and heart pound,
AND have a decent story about humanity, go watch.

that crazy love thing

even aliens need nurturing

take the opportunity to tell our loved ones;

that they are there to tell us to eat healthy,
that they are there to keep our homes clean,
that they are the ones who teaches us about life,
that they are the ones who takes care of us,
that they are the ones who puts our comfort first,
that they are the ones who loves us unconditionally,
and that our lives are better off with them in it

because it certainly is.

mars needs moms. go watch.

adjust me

when someone else is on the line, you adjust.

would you sacrifice for love?

would you sacrifice what you stand for,
would you sacrifice your future,
would you sacrifice your dreams?

if you are true to your love, then you would.

you would give up what you stand for,
you would seek a alternate future,
and you would find a different dream

now, what happens when the person
that you love is the one who is compromised instead?

would you ask them to give up their hopes,
would you ask them to give up their dreams,
would you ask them to choose you over what they aspire to?

life is tough enough without having to make that decision,
but what if you had to make it nonetheless?

would you sacrifice their happiness in order to achieve yours,
or would your love be true, that you would rather them
be happy and find their path in life, even without you?

the adjustment bureau. go watch.

more than just a fuzzy mongrel

wise little fuzzy bugger

re-watched 'ratatouille' again last nite,
and i must say, it's such a funny and cute story!
some words of wisdom from our fuzzy little friend;

remy the rat : noble? we're thieves, dad,
and what we're stealing is, let's face it, garbage!

remy's dad : it isn't stealing if no one wants it!

remy the rat : if no one wants it,
then why are we stealing it?!!

9 months and counting...

the ring of power. the object of the greatest movie. EVER.

9 months is a looong time

people could pretty much have kids by 9 months.
that's right, from conception to a fully-grown baby.
from a speck of near-nothingness to a living being.

...and that's how long we've gone without a movie,
be it a romantic comedy, action, drama, animation,
that has truly blown me away this year

9 months, people!

and there's only 3 months to go
for something, something out there to salvage the year!
and i have a feeling it won't be a blockbuster flick

and in some ways, i find that to be depressing

eclipse

the less you do, the more it means

you don’t have to tell someone that you are good for them,
you don’t have to remind someone
that they should have feelings for you,
you don’t have to state and plead your case
that you are indeed the better choice

it may be true, but it also may be irrelevant

no-one can tell us who our heart desires,
no-one could can remind us who is constantly in our minds,
and no-one can dictate the person of our choice

we just. know.

the ability to defy conventionality and supersede expectations.
and that is the great thing about love

the less you do, the more it means.
