i am calculative.
when it comes to getting what i want
and achieving what i aim for,
there are always certain people
and certain segments of people
who are always in my peripheral vision
i keep them within my view,
i keep them within my thoughts,
and i keep them within my calculations
until i turn my focus on them.
as alan shore's character once said;
"...i know exactly how big and powerful you are, mr. mathis.
it might do you some good to check me out.
i’m the guy who just nicked big tobacco for 200 million
now i just sit in my office all day, twiddling my thumbs,
asking myself, 'who’s next?'
well, guess what?
it’s you..."
that's right, i have an idea who's next for me.
i may very well be viewed as the bad guy,
but then again, i have no problems whatsoever being so.
yup, i am calculative.

who knew?
who knew my vision was that straightforward?
who knew my words would invoke that much reaction?
and who knew that raising hell would be this much fun?
yes, it is.
who knew my words would invoke that much reaction?
and who knew that raising hell would be this much fun?
yes, it is.
do better. please.
what is it with local people?
they think that saying things like
''...eh malu la cani..." will actually provoke me,
they think that i have an obligation to banje die makan,
and they think that mind games will ruffle me
...pathetic.
i have news for you,
i don't give a shit.
sorry. hahahaha!
i don't give a shit about you and your lack of wit,
i don't give a shit about feeding you,
and i don't give a shit about what you think
so is that the best you can do? malu la cani.

shift it.
think about it.
not everyone in this world gets a shot.
a shot to right the wrongs of yesterday.
an opportunity to make a positive difference
if you find yourself being in that situation,
then you owe it to yourself to do the absolute best,
you do everything in your power to make things right
you do not waver, you do not compromise,
you cover every single angle and make sure
that you are the one to sound out the right call
you. out of all those people in the world.
you are the one who can make a difference.
you.

honesty of the day
off a conversation earlier today;
mua : hey man! so, you flew here for the meeting?
fren : nope. i'm just here for the nice hotel.
see? who says honesty is dead? 8-D

'oh gosh' of the day
now, if you think that gals going off emotionally
and they start to babble continously
and they begin to nag non-stop is bad,
wait till you hear this!
dere's a new type of nagging in town;
eco-nagging.
that's right. eco-nagging.
people (or a particular person) nagging about
ecology and perhaps nagging about the environment
you heard it from me. first.

'coming of age' of the day
every now and then you manage to see
a growth and a change in people
that makes you either wanna laugh or cry
today a dear friend blossomed into general manager material.
and yes, i do not know whether to laugh or cry.
true story.

wisdom of the day
"...sometimes the best decisions you make
are the ones that doesn't make any sense..."

retreat? hell.
watch this one. loud.

how does it feel to be shocked?
how does it feel to be scared for your life?
how does it feel to have adreneline rush through you?
how do soldiers keep their nerve in battle?
what does it take to make decisions and stick with it?
what do you do when there is no right or wrong?
how does it feel to have brotherhood and trust?
what does it mean to have something to fight for?
what would you do to protect those you love?
world invasion; battle of los angeles.
if you want to have your ears and heart pound,
AND have a decent story about humanity, go watch.
that crazy love thing
even aliens need nurturing

take the opportunity to tell our loved ones;
that they are there to tell us to eat healthy,
that they are there to keep our homes clean,
that they are the ones who teaches us about life,
that they are the ones who takes care of us,
that they are the ones who puts our comfort first,
that they are the ones who loves us unconditionally,
and that our lives are better off with them in it
because it certainly is.
mars needs moms. go watch.
just give me a sign
such a brilliant, brilliant song.
from such a brilliant, brilliant band.
from such a brilliant, brilliant band.
name your cat 'puffy'. it's less pressure, you know.
let's face it, life is filled with pressure
you have pressure to perform at work,
you have pressure to be a good son / daughter / parent,
you have pressure to be a good citizen
now, imagine if you are named 'solehuddin'
ouch.
dat means, not only do have to be good at work,
at home, and in your country,
you simply have to be religious as well!
by default.
it's like naming your cat 'clean as hell'.
that means the poor thing has to somehow
live his furry little life trying sooo hard to be spick and spam,
to try NOT to pee and poop around the house,
and somehow has to learn to bathe himself
so that he can waltz around smelling like shampoo
bcos, well, he's clean as hell. literally.
life, in itself, is filled with pressure.
living up to a name is another form of pressure altogether,
and whether or not that is necessary, well, i'll let you decide

based on today's earlier chit chat with the team;
mua : so, who do you think would be perfect
to be working in HR in this dept?
frens : YOU.
erm. am not sure if that was a compliment.

based on a short meeting earlier today;
guy : look, despite all your facts,
you could STILL be wrong, you know!
mua : yes, i agree. i COULD.
but i'm NOT. there's a difference.

went broke believing that simple should be hard.
a lyrical posto, this time off the lyrically wonderful
"all we are" by matt nathanson. have a listen to it
"all we are" by matt nathanson. have a listen to it
you. matter.
look, despite what you hope for in working life,
the reality is, sometimes you are not appreciated
on one hand, you are not appreciated probably bcos
you are an idiot. ni tak reti, tu tak reti, cam haram.
on the other hand, you are not appreciated bcos
you care too much and you are too invested
which means, you do things bcos you know its vital,
you do things bcos you know it makes a difference,
and you do things bcos its your responsibility
but every now and then, you find your efforts futile.
bcos people take it for granted that YOU will do it,
and dey'll always assume it'll get done. bcos you care
so in the end, people forget to acknowledge the fact
that if you DON'T do it, it never gets done.
and even if it IS, it'll be a piece of crap.
so, knowing that, you have two choices;
either you accept the fact that it's a fact of worklife,
so you keep on chugging away (begrudgingly)
...or you can do something about it.
how about stopping for one task?
how about stopping for one assignment?
how about stopping for one day?
do something radical. and just stop.
and sit back. see what happens.
and enjoy the chaos that unfolds.
you see, people tend to forget.
so take a stand, do something about it,
and remind people that you are there,
that you are good, that you care
...and that you matter.

wear long sleeves. even if you get drenched.
off the star, a salon owner in kota bharu was fined
because one of the staff wore a three quarter sleeve
so it's inappropirate. very inappropriate.
despite the staff was washing customers' hair
wow. we have the fashion police. literally.

adjust me
when someone else is on the line, you adjust.
would you sacrifice for love?would you sacrifice what you stand for,
would you sacrifice your future,
would you sacrifice your dreams?
if you are true to your love, then you would.
you would give up what you stand for,
you would seek a alternate future,
and you would find a different dream
now, what happens when the person
that you love is the one who is compromised instead?
would you ask them to give up their hopes,
would you ask them to give up their dreams,
would you ask them to choose you over what they aspire to?
life is tough enough without having to make that decision,
but what if you had to make it nonetheless?
would you sacrifice their happiness in order to achieve yours,
or would your love be true, that you would rather them
be happy and find their path in life, even without you?
the adjustment bureau. go watch.

invested.
if there is one thing that i've learnt
all throughout this life of mine,
it would definitely be;
i am a gamble.
but i am a gamble worth taking.
all throughout this life of mine,
it would definitely be;
i am a gamble.
but i am a gamble worth taking.

NVA (non-value added) reply of the day
now, i'm not a big fan of going to briefings
and a huge reason for that is the Q&A sessions,
which, quite frankly, leaves you with
far more questions than answers
because of the super vague answers you always get
for example, say your question is;
"...hello, excuse me! i am from the equipment dept.
we have a problem. what can we do to solve it?..."
then, 99% of the time, you'll get a reply like this;
"...problems are a fact of life. we need to be capable
enough to address these issues. and don't worry,
if we don't have the expertise, we can always
get the expertise from our partners and vendors
we are always open to ideas and new technology.
that's why it is so important for us to think outside the box.
see that box over there? yes, think outside of it
a problem is never a problem until we view it as one.
problems are usually a state of mind.
which is why it's important to read motivational books
i have been around for a long time,
and based on all my years of experience,
solving problems is a great challenge,
a vessel of opportunity to move forward
and that's what we'll do!
work together, synergize our capabilities,
and achieve our common goal and targets!
we can do it! yes we can!..."
