glass half empty, glass half full 

i'd like you to think about the magnitude of a half

you know, split in two, 50 percent, half.
just take a few seconds to envision it,
and think of the magnitude of that half

think of all the people in the world.
then imagine half of them are men,
and the other half are women

think of all kids in the country.
then imagine half of them are playing,
and the other half having a soundless sleep

think of all the traffic in the city.
then imagine one half stuck in a jam,
and the other half rolling along smoothly

now, think of your very own lifetime.
all the stuff you've been through,
all the stuff you've learnt,
all the pain you've felt,
all the joy you've been bestowed

then imagine going through all of that
having someone to trust and have laughs with
and someone to help you out and vice versa.

and that someone is around for about half your life

so, to amir. it's been 15 years and counting.
it has been an honour to be your friend.
here's to the next 15 and beyond.
